Dunelm’s social and environmental impact stretches far beyond our customers’ homes. We strive to be good and circular and look after all our homes, now and for generations to come.

Three pillars of our sustainability approach

Our home the Planet

We recognise the Planet provides the resources we use to create our products.

Our home in the Communities

We have a role in the Communities where our stores and sites operate.

A home for our People

We create a home for People working in both our business and our wider supply chain.

Sustainability Report 2023

Materiality

To understand the views of our internal and external stakeholders on our most material environmental, social and governance topics we carry out assessments to help manage our approach to ESG.

Our most recent materiality assessment mapped 25 impacts across different stakeholder groups through quantitative and qualitative interviews and surveys. From this we identified perceived ‘managed’ and ‘unmanaged’ risks and opportunities.

How we report

The metrics and targets we use to manage our climate-related impacts are chosen because they relate directly to our material climate risks and opportunities, and because they are where we can make the biggest positive impact.

In setting our GHG metrics and targets, we have ensured that they are in line with the Paris Agreement and aligned to a 1.5°C pathway, the UK’s commitment in the Climate Change Act 2008 (2050 Target Amendment) Order 2019 and other relevant legislation, as well as the British Retail Consortium’s Climate Action Roadmap which we support.

The carbon, cotton and water metrics are aligned to the Textiles 2030 voluntary agreement, of which we are members. These topics are also important to our colleagues, customers and society more broadly.
